About the project
“Digestation” by Kateryna Radushynska
Performance by Kateryna Radushynska showcases the cycle of life and non-being alongside life during the war.
War. Love. Mobilization. Emigration. She says: “This is my land.” She says: “I am a bad Ukrainian.” She says: “I must go to war.” She says: “I cooked for him in a cauldron for the first time when he arrived.” Everything is happening simultaneously now. And much of it is impossible to digest yet. This work initiates the process of digestion.
The performance guides the viewer through 3 levels. The first level: to hear the confessions of the heroines. The second: the opportunity to experience more and deeper through physical images, dance, and music. And the third level: audio-visual, it is a return to life – from darkness to affirmations of what supports each of us to live through our reality. We immerse the viewer in relevant themes and current events, allowing them to process it together with us and emerge, remembering what else is around besides war, death, fear, and pain.
