About the project
“Hook 2. Acting masterclass” by Kateryna Libkind and Oleksandr Steshenko
Kateryna Libkind and Oleksandr Steshenko held a joint acting workshop. This was an acting masterclass conducted by actor and screenwriter Oleksandr Steshenko. Under his guidance, Kateryna Libkind performed acting scenes on various themes. This event is the second part of Kateryna Libkind’s work within the framework of the Fellowship.
Artist Kateryna Libkind and theater and film actor Oleksandr Steshenko created a 45-minute performance that, for me, became the most important and interesting phenomenon in Ukrainian theater in the last 5-6, maybe even more, seasons. The performance was simultaneously funny, sad, and quite serious. Some people laughed throughout the whole performance (even when the director asked them not to, it was already uncontrollably impulsive), and at the end they cried (that was me) – while others did the opposite. But besides this emotional level, the performance had another, quite complex in nature, conceptual level. For me, it consisted of a combination of the conditionally “naive” theater of Oleksandr (who acted as a playwright and director-coach), multiplied by the perspective of the artist, who in the performance played a formally controlled actress.
