About the project
“Space of (not) free expression” by Anna Shevchenko
This two-day performance by Anna Shevchenko invites people to unite in a shared space where dialogue is possible through the exchange and interaction with handwritten texts. The event is dedicated to the theme of freedom of expression, its transformation, and fluidity.
- What is the space between people?
- The physical plane of a house, street, city, country, world?
- Chats on social networks?
- Gazes, touches, words?
- Inner and outer worlds?
- Can we express ourselves freely today?
- Can we express ourselves freely at home today?
- Can we express ourselves freely in public spaces?
- How do we express ourselves when we cannot do so honestly?
- What happens to what is not expressed?
About the author
Anna Shevchenko is a multidisciplinary artist working at the intersection of performative and research-based practices. Her primary media are performance, text, and photography. In her work, she explores identity, the boundaries between the “self” and the “other,” as well as the subtle mechanisms of human interaction with space and the environment. Her practice combines corporeality, game mechanics, participatory formats, and a research-driven approach that engages the viewer in a live dialogue and co-creation.
