About the work

“War Diary” project by Aliona Movchan

Aliona Movchan presents “War Diary”, a poetic and musical event about Kherson and its inhabitants, on the example of two citizens. It reflects on the events in the city from February 24, 2022, to the present day. The event is built around a collection of the author’s poems, created by the poet, and the author’s music of a firefighter-rescuer. The presentation took place on December 17, 2023, in Kherson.

 

About the author

Aliona Movchan is the head of the literary and dramatic department of the M. Kulish Kherson Regional Academic Music and Drama Theater, a poet, since 2016 – the organizer of the literary and musical event “Poetic Wardrobe”, since 2018 – the organizer of the festival “Shafa!Fest”, a member of the organizing committee of the International Theater Festival “Melpomene of Tavria”, a member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, the organizer of art events in the de-occupied communities of the Kherson region “Invincible” (with the support of the NGO “Tenth of April”), the author of four poetry collections and the chronicle novel “Occupation”.

Viktor Revenko – firefighter-rescuer of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kherson region, musician, vocalist, member of the rock band “Scythians,” co-organizer of the musical project “Rock!Komod,” co-author of the project “Heroes without Weapons,” thanks to which funds were raised for 4 thermal imagers and 3 navigators for the State Emergency Service of Kherson region.
